RRSP Deadline Quickly Approaching…March 2, 2026

For Existing Clients:

In order to make a contribution towards the 2025 taxation year, contributions will need to be made by no later than March 2, 2026. To be safe I would suggest doing it as soon as possible and no later than February 28th.

As in past years the process could not be any easier.

Simply email or call me. I will then email or fax to you the appropriate form for your signature with your desired contribution amount. The amount will be automatically withdrawn from your personal chequing account. You can even specify that the withdrawal date be postponed as long as it isn’t beyond the deadline of March 2, 2026.

RRSP Contributions provide two very important advantages.

In the short term they provide a tax deduction against your income ensuring that less taxes are needed to be submitted to CRA. Better in your account than in theirs! Long term they provide a nest egg for your retirement.

For Prospective Clients:

It is a proven fact and no surprise that clients who have financial advisors perform better than those without an advisor.

In down markets there is always fear and chaos. As an example, the 2008 economic meltdown, which is still very fresh in our minds, led many investors to run for the exits, withdrawing their investments and/or switching their portfolios to more conservative means such as GICs or money market funds.

Essentially this crystallized a loss as many missed the rebound when markets swung back up and beyond. Most of the gain was made within the first three months of the rebound. By the time investors realized the market shift, it was too late. This is where having an advisor is key.

I would be pleased to meet with you to discuss your exiting RRSP and investments and provide you with advice.

Also if you haven’t yet started investments or RRSPs I would be happy to meet with you and offer you sound guidance. My expertise as an advisor is extensive having worked for many years with banks and insurers in the Pension and Group Retirement Services industry.

Investing takes discipline and patience. You deserve a financial advisor that understands and adheres to this.
